Most Popular Posts of 2015

Updated Jun 26, 2020

The year 2015 is over and we have had a great time. To bring this blog’s first full year to a close we have analyzed all the 65 posts and created an overview of this blog’s most popular posts of 2015, divided by categories. Check it out below:

Infographics

The infographics section has performed well this year. The infographic about the Australian economy has accumulated more than twice as many views as the second most viewed infographic, the summary of the German economy. Many infographics have been actively shared on social media (facebook, twitter, and reddit) which has contributed a lot to the high number of views. Check out the top 3 below:

1. Australian Economy At a Glance (5344 views)
2. German Economy At a Glance (2305 views)
3. 10 Principles of Economics You Should Know (1829 views)

Economics

Overall, the economics section has collected the most views. There are a few posts that have amassed a significant number of backlinks that drives organic search traffic to the site (e.g. Limitations of GDP as an Indicator of Welfare and Positive Externalities vs. Negative Externalities). The increasing number of search traffic results in a high number of views, even though most of those posts did not perform exceptionally well on social media. Here are the top 3:

1. Limitations of GDP as an Indicator of Welfare (2479 views)
2. Positive Externalities vs. Negative Externalities (2243 views)
3. The Law Of Supply And Demand (1231 views)

Business

The business section has only just started to grow. Therefore it has not accumulated a lot of views yet. At least one of the posts (i.e. How to Ruin Your Startup in 7 Simple Steps) has performed well on social media. Check out the top 3 below:

1. How to Ruin Your Startup in 7 Simple Steps (1275 views)
2. Why Do Firms Need Growth (277 views)
3. What Type of Entrepreneur Are You? (216 views)

Update: Since we relaunched this blog in August 2016, we have discontinued the business section. With Principles of Economics And Business we were trying to connect and combine different economic sciences. However, we felt that we can add more value by focusing exclusively on economics now with Quickonomics.

Glossary

As expected, the glossary posts did not account for many views in total. Their primary purpose is, to support readers in understanding difficult words from other posts. Below you can find the top 3 from this section:

1. Tax Incidence (39 views)
2. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) (26 views)
3. Adverse Selection (19 views)

In a Nutshell

In total we have counted 38’234 views on 65 posts up to this point. Thank you very much for all the support and positive feedback. We wish you all a happy new year and see you in 2016.

Update: Make sure to check out our most popular posts of 2016 and 2017.
